15 minutes of mixed media

Welcome to this week's take on 15 minutes of mixed media. This week I thought it would be fun to share a video of me creating a journal layout using my tried and true method for spontaneous creativity! Don't worry- I sped up the video so you can view the entire process in about 7 minutes!

I hope you enjoyed the video! I love being able to create an entire layout in just a few short minutes. Just to let you know- I am creating in this Small Dyan Reavely Creative Journal.

Here are a few other journal pages I created using this technique!

Ha! No wonder you can do it in 15 min. You've got 3 hands! ;-)

hahaha Hanna! Just as I turned the camera on and sat down I bumped the table and half my stash went flying...luckily my "third hand" was sitting next to me doing some homework and helped me out! Thanks for reading!

Where did you get the stencil that has the different patterns? I must have it!

Hi Melanie! I think you mean the one that was yellow and white? Guess what? It was a small piece of doily paper by Basic Grey. I The more I use it the better it gets, because it is not as flimsy as it once was! It started life as this yellow and white NOOK & PANTRY doily paper -----> http://www.cranberrycat.com/BasicGreyNookPantry.htm
Hope that helps!

This is great. I always over think everything and it takes me forever. Nice to see what can be done in such a short amount of time. Thank you for the inspiration. Can I ask what paint pens you are using and what is in the water brushes? Thank you for sharing.

This is nothing short of brilliant Rae! So gorgeous and beautiful! I too always think and create things that require a lot of thought, and although I like that, sometimes I want to let go....I NEED to do this! Thank you for your talent and inspiration and sharing!

Thank your for this video, loved it!! I could see the freedom of play you were having and need to do this for myself. Beautiful page!! Read and caught up here on the below posts, loved it all!! Hi Lisa!
Thank you for your kind words! I am using the PAINTERS brand paint pens in all colors. I find them super cheap at my local Wal-Mart. I think they are $1.97 for one and or 4/5? pack for $9.97! I love them! They are my favorite tool right now! I add a few drops of dylusions inks into the water brushes...I just guess, but if think somewhere around three parts water to one part ink. I hope this helps! xx

I so love to watch you work, Rae. You have brought a world of sunshine and brightness into a very cold, snowy Alberta morning. Thanks for sharing.

P.S. I wish for an art angel to hand me supplies as I work, hee hee

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I was going to ask about the painter pens, but looks like you already answered it in a prior comment. I love your work.

Hi. Love your work, and your way to play with the colors ;) I wonder what kind of book you use, and where to bye it?

I'm so happy Lynn! I bumped the table and set my supplies flying, so I was lucky to have that little peanut nearby to help me retrieve them! Easier than having to hop on and off of my stool! heehee!

Thanks Shawna! Yep - they are great! And cheap! Let me know how you like them if you check them out!
